Between 2018 and 2021, the group used clean energy to generate nearly 350 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, equivalent to 121,000 households. A year of electricity consumption; at the same time, carbon dioxide emissions were reduced by 169,000 tons, equivalent to the total emissions of about 60,000 cars.
The analysis pointed out that in the past, Panama's fossil fuels mainly relied on imports, which were greatly affected by price fluctuations in the international market, and the cost of residential and commercial electricity was relatively high. The implementation of the new comprehensive development plan for the power sector will not only help achieve the 2050 carbon neutrality goal, but will also gradually reduce the actual expenditure on electricity bills by residents and businesses.
